LA Guns rolled through Omaha on their current tour the “The Lucky MF’r Tour”. The title comes off a track from their latest release, Leopard Skin. LA Guns sold out the Barnato Lounge, had the place packed to the hilt. Which if I had one complaint for the evening, it would have been, why not a bigger venue? They are definitely capable of selling more tickets than what Barnato can hold. It is a great venue and a very cool vibe, but it was packed as tight as you can go. That being said, it was a great night with the guys from LA Guns. They rocked through the thirteen song set. It was filled with classics as well as newer songs, including the new release Lucky MF’r. Which went over very well with the crowd. They were singing along during the chorus like it was one of the older hits. Which, is quite a feat for a band that has been around as long as LA Guns. Most come to hear the classics and don’t necessarily care for the newer releases. That was not the case on this night.

If you haven’t had a chance to see LA Guns for awhile, you should definitely check them out. Top to bottom, they are a group some of the best musicians you are going to find. Starting with guitars, you have Tracii Guns, that should be enough to say right there, but if you don’t know, I’ll just add in the word- LEGEND. Yes. He’s that good. And then add in the other guitarist Ace Von Johnson. He is amazing in his own right. And the one band has both him and Tracii Guns together is almost criminal. Rounding out the rest of the band you have Johnny Martin on bass and Shawn Duncan on drums. Both amazing in their own right. Last and not least, you have Phil Lewis on vocals, who still sounds amazing. This guy is timeless, still hits all the notes. Why would you not see these guys if have the chance? One of the best touring bands right now, and not just from the 80’s. But one of the best bands touring right now, period.
